MEL courses
The MEL courses aim to improve the ability to study and learn and to achieve the desired educational goals by focussing on different aspects simultaneously: the organization of study sessions, the management of single study sessions, learning methods and the memorization and elaboration of the contents, the regulation of emotions such as anxiety, the finally motivation and concentration. The individual and group MEL courses consist of a structured path of 10 modules that uses coaching and mindfulness.
Group course
It uses a group approach (mindfulness-based group coaching – MbGC) in which the sharing of one’s experiences facilitates one’s personal growth.

It is designed based on each person, into account his/her history and particular needs. It allows each individual to focus on particular aspects in particular.
Test and exam preparation course
This course uses the same tools as the MEL courses but focuses on the regulation of emotions, such as anxiety, that arise in the preparation of an exam or a test that is decisive for one’s own personal career and that affects his/her success.
Vocational course
This course is a path that works in order to identify one’s own vocation, aimed at those who want to recognize their talent and the appropriate trainings and then a professional path.

Format
The course is customized according to the needs of the person. Set as a mindfulness-based coaching course, it includes an initial part of planning the course itself. The first module is dedicated to the creation of a welcoming and comfortable space in the group and to the presentation of the main topics covered in the course.
The second and third modules deal with basic features of effective learning: self-awareness and attention regulation.
The following two modules are devoted to emotional regulation and motivation, crucial aspects of learning favored by attention regulation and self-awareness.
After working on the aspects of “being”, the following four modules are dedicated to “doing”: and therefore to the acquisition of effective strategies and study techniques.
In the 4 modules focused on “doing” we work on time management and study planning, problem solving, study techniques such as the interleaving practice, active retrieval, self-testing, and mnemotechnics.
The last module concludes the course, focusing on the advantages and benefits of the course.
At the beginning of each module, the practice of guided mindfulness meditation is proposed.
A time of sharing follows (or a dialogue in the case of an individual course), facilitated by the coach, to monitor and evaluate individual progress towards the goals set in the previous module, completed in the previous week. If the assessment is negative, changes and improvements must be defined for future actions.
This is followed by a task to develop awareness of the present state, and to set goals and action plans regarding the topic of the module. The task is carried out with moments of sharing and with individual or group experiential activities such as games and role-playing, problem solving, training of specific techniques, self-assessment questionnaires, mutual dyadic interview and guided meditation oriented towards a specific object.
In the end, we share the benefits gained during work done in the module.
